Simón Barquera

President, World Obesity Federation

Dear colleagues and friends, it is with great pleasure that we welcome you to be part of the International Congress on Obesity, hosted at The World Trade Center Mexico City in Mexico in July 2026.

This Congress is being organised in collaboration with our member organisations Mexican Society of Obesity (SMO), along with our wider network of members including The Mexican Endocrine Society, CLAS, Obesidades, FLASO and key prevention stakeholders.

The Congress will welcome 3,000 delegates from a range of disciplines; including clinicians, policy makers, scientists and UN representatives. We are curating an exciting and dynamic programme that will bring together experts from the clinical, basic science, and public health fields. This will be an exceptional opportunity for delegates to engage with the most cutting-edge developments in the prevention and treatment of obesity, as well a stimulating setting for networking and reconnecting. Of note are also a series of pre-congress workshops and sessions on 14 July 2026.

We look forward to welcoming you to the International Congress on Obesity in Mexico City!
